How is Bragg Liquid Aminos REALLY made?

It's not fermented. It isn't heated. I called the company and asked if they used hydrochloric acid, and they said, "No." So, how the heck do they make this stuff?! I'm fairly certain that just soaking soybeans in tubs of purified water alone will not get you anything similar to Bragg Liquid Aminos. Does anyone know how it is made? Thanks!
