Ipod warranty??????????????????????…

so today while crossing the road my ipod fell out of my pocket and fell face first. The WHOLE screen cracked and its useless now. so i was wondering, i know all ipods have a one year free waranty when u buy them so would i be able to replace this? cuz it hasnt even come close to a year soooooo, what do u think???
